Subject: Re: Napco 1000E, 1016E, 1008 panels The 1000e is rather simple, buy a 40 pin chip clip and put it on the large chip on the board (powered down of course), power up the panel and short the 5th pin from the bottom left to the 5th pin top right. hold down the 9 key for 3 seconds until it beeps, hold down the 8 key until it beeps and put in the default installer code 4 5 6 7 8 9 your in programming, take off the jumper and view the installer code or program as normal. on the 1008 there is an empty socket for an eprom pointing up , with a wire short the bottom right socket to the 2nd from the top right socket and do the 9 key, 8 key then default code. this works with both the 1008e and the 1008lkdl now the 16 I gotta go look it up, pretty much the same principle, watch what your doing or you can short the wrong pins and damage the board.
